FC Dallas walked out of Providence Park with a 2-2 draw against the Portland Timbers on Wednesday night, stretching its unbeaten run to three matches and pushing the club to 26 points on the season. The result kept Dallas (7-4-5) firmly in the mix out West while the hosts stayed mired near the bottom of the table.
The scoring opened just before halftime when Patrickson Delgado found the net in first-half added time, his third goal of the year and, tellingly, his third on the road. Joaquin Valiente supplied the assist, moving into sole possession of the team lead with five on the season.
The bigger storyline arrived after the break. Petar Musa, fresh off representing Croatia at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, came on as a substitute and buried his 13th goal of the season, a total that keeps him tied atop the MLS Golden Boot race. Musa had already made history over the summer, becoming the first active FC Dallas player to score at a World Cup when he found the net against England on June 17 at Dallas Stadium. He earned two starts for Croatia during the tournament before rejoining the club.
Musa was not the only one back from international duty. Sweden’s Herman Johansson returned to the starting eleven after his own World Cup run, and the reunions did not stop there. Santiago Moreno faced Portland for the first time since leaving the club in 2025, having spent four seasons there before Dallas brought him in on loan from Fluminense ahead of this campaign. Moreno has ten appearances, two goals and an assist for Dallas so far.
The night also marked a debut. Goalkeeper Daniel, acquired from the San Jose Earthquakes earlier this summer, earned his first start and first appearance for the club. Elsewhere, the matchday squad welcomed back two injury absentees. Bernard Kamungo returned as a second-half substitute for the first time since April 4 after a muscle problem kept him out of nine straight matches, and Anderson Julio rejoined the group having not featured since a knee injury in early March.
