Do not panic yet, Cowboys fans. Micah Parsons is telling you that the ugly loss to the New York Giants in Week 1 is not the end of the road. The former star, now on the Green Bay Packers roster, believes Dallas will turn it around quickly. He spoke on his Bleacher Report podcast, “The Edge with Micah Parsons,” to share his blunt take on the 28-20 defeat at MetLife Stadium.

Why the Loss Was a One-Off

Parsons sees the problem as a coaching issue, not a talent issue. He pointed out that the team has a new defensive coordinator and new players who need time to gel. “New [defensive coordinator], new players. One football camp can’t put it all together, bro,” Parsons explained. He also noted that star receiver George Pickens was not at his best yet. Parsons insists the roster has too much skill for this bad start to last. “They have too much talent for it not to progress,” he said.

That kind of confidence is rare after a blowout. Most people would call it a disaster. Parsons calls it a glitch. He thinks the team will bounce back because the talent is there. According to Yahoo Sports, the Giants managed time for over 36 minutes while keeping Dallas under four yards per rush. That stat hurts. But Parsons thinks it is fixable.

Dart Is the Real Story

Yahoo Sports notes that Jaxson Dart completed 23 of 29 passes for 230 yards and three touchdowns that night. He did not throw a single interception. That is a great start for a rookie. Parsons went so far as to say he is more excited about Dart’s future than the rest of the Giants team. “I’m more excited about seeing what he has at the end of the year than seeing what their team has because they are going to go as he goes.”

The Giants defense was also nasty. Only twice in the second half did the Cowboys manage to touch the ball. “The Giants are going to be a really good team, they allowed the Cowboys to touch the ball two times in the second half,” Parsons noted. This history matters too. The Cowboys had beaten the Giants in 14 of their last 16 meetings prior to this game.

Parsons described the Giants performance as “as damn good as I’ve seen in the NFL, bro” via Giants Wire. That is a strong compliment from a defensive legend. But his message to Dallas remains clear. Do not throw in the towel. The talent is there. The coaches just need time. The loss was a fluke. Trust the process. The Cowboys have too much skill to stay down for long.
